Posted: February 25th, 2003 In 1967, after Sensei Karurosa had destroyed the ninja terror clan, he moved out of his parent's home and began renting an apartment. He had been awarded the dojo as a result of his bravery and it quickly became one of the best in all of Japan. Karurosa still suffered greatly from the loss of Ayumi, but he took great pride in knowing that he had stopped the ninja terror attacks. Karurosa thought he had killed all of the ninjas. He was wrong. Ayumi was incorrect when she said there were three original ninjas. There were four. The remaining living ninja was named Goro Arakawa. Arakawa began planning his revenge immediately. Unlike the other 3 ninjas, Arakawa did not have a son old enough to partake in the terror attacks. This angered him greatly, his wife had had several miscarriages over the years and he beat the poor woman severely after each one, such disgrace she had caused him. Finally, in 1959, she bore a son named Masaki. Masaki was eight years old years old when his father's ninja clan was decimated. Arakawa had started training Masaki to be a ninja at the age of two and Masaki hated him for it. Arakawa never let Masaki act like a child and there were constant beatings. By the age of eight, Masaki abhorred Arakawa so much he prayed nightly his father's death. Masaki knew of the terror attacks and knew that his father would kill Karurosa. Masaki mailed a simple note to Karurosa, which said, "There were ten ninjas, not nine. The last is coming for you soon. Be ready." Karurosa didn't know what to think of the letter he received. He assumed it was probably a prank, but he would be ready. A few weeks after the ninja slayings, Karurosa was lying in his apartment bed with his door closed. It was four in the morning but Karurosa couldn't sleep, he had been tossing and turning all night. He was about to get up to go get a drink of water when he heard his door slowly begin to creak open. Karurosa already had his hands on his wakizashi sword, which he had kept sheathed under his pillow. It was clear that this last ninja would attempt to kill Karurosa in the same manner that Karurosa had killed the ninja's clan. He was facing away from the door and had a very difficult decision to make. If he turned and struck too soon he might give the ninja too much room. Chances are the ninja was armed with a katana and he would be no match with his wakizashi. So Karurosa closed his useless eyes and widened his senses. It was the longest four seconds of his life. When he could wait no longer he sprung out of bed, wakizashi in hand. Arakawa's hands were held high over his head, the tip of the katana blade almost touching his behind. He was defenseless as Karurosa drove the wakizashi sword through Arakawa's neck. Arakawa stumbled backwards, dropped the katana, and slammed against the wall. He was still alive, at least long enough to look Karurosa in the eyes for a few seconds. Karurosa called the police and finally felt that his life of ninja terror was over. When Masaki heard the news that his father was killed he was overjoyed. But as the days grew on he began to grow quite angry and depressed. Surprisingly, he missed his father. Only after his death did Masaki realize just how much he loved him. Masaki hated Karurosa but yet viewed him as a superhero. Masaki's mother remarried when Masaki was just fourteen. This was too much for Masaki. He moved out of his home, living on the streets for a little while. He began making money, good money, running errands for the Yakuza. By the age of seventeen, Masaki had become a full-fledged Yakuza member. Masaki wanted to cut all ties to his old life. So he changed his name. His new name would be Basho Nakamoto. Nakamoto soon become one of the most valuable members of the Yakuza and rose the ranks quite quickly. But still, the death of his father haunted him. For a brief period of time he turned to drugs but that didn't help. At the age of twenty he began studying martial arts and ninjitsu again. He poured all of his negative energy into his training and excelled like few in the martial arts have. But as time went on he became more and more obsessed with Karurosa, he simply couldn't get him out of his head. He loved and hated Karurosa at the same time. He wanted to hurt him but he also wanted to be his friend. By the age of thirty-three, the heavily conflicted Nakamoto knew he had to do something. He would strike at Karurosa's heart and destroy him the way Karurosa had destroyed young Nakamoto. And then he would be there to help pick up the pieces. Nakamoto knew there was only one way to truly hurt Karurosa. And that would be through his daughter, Melissa. Nakamoto had a son Izumo whom he adored. Nakamoto had allowed his son to have a childhood, unlike his father had done with him. But it was time for Izumo to learn his first true lesson in life. Nakamoto would crush the soul of Karurosa and then begin to repair it. A gift for Izumo, twisted Nakamoto thought. Nakamoto thought the fishing trip would be the end to his suffering. Little did he know just how much blood would be shed as a result of his foolish plan. "Be ready", Nakamoto had written to Karurosa so long ago. Surely he wasn't ready for what lied ahead.
